Giveaway has now closed. Congratulations to the winner, Leslie, who said, “Crossing my fingers!” and is rad because she joined the email posse (woot!). Let’s plan our trip to Thanksgiving Point soon, Leslie!
…
Last week I had the rad opportunity to attend a Blogger night at Thanksgiving Point. We sat in on a cooking class from the Chef of their Harvest Restaurant, made a cute little paper white bulb planter from a tin can to show us their horticulture side and got an exclusive tour of the store and the basement. Afterward, we hopped on the trolley for the Holiday Lights tour with a cup of scrumptious hot chocolate. We really got a taste for all the fabulous things Thanksgiving Point has to experience.
This is a little taste of what we sampled from the cooking class (thanks, Emily, for letting me borrow your camera for these! My iPhone just wouldn’t cut it for food pics *wink*):
- shrimp taco -
- butternut squash soup served in an adorable lil’ bread bowl -
Here are a few things I found in Thanksgiving Point’s Emporium that I am in love with:
Have you heard how gray is the new brown? Regardless of the trends, I am a BIG gray fan, thus why this bedding set immediately caught my eye. I’m also a fanatic about decorating with typography, so the pillows with “peace” and “love” sealed the deal. Look closely on the walls behind and you’ll see that they’re covered in pages from an old book! The pages were just stapled on the wall and it gave this showroom a really eclectic, anthro kind of look. I’m pondering where I could copy this decorating idea in my house… hmmm.. maybe with maps in our homeschool room? Could be fun!
I’ve been stumped on what kind of living room set I’d like someday & this gray (again with my love of this color) velvet sofa opened up a world of possibilities!!! I love everything about it and someday when I get it you can come visit me in my living room and we’ll sit on it together. Won’t that be lovely?
The clothes!! Oh, the clothes!! Seriously, Thanksgiving Point has the BEST taste in clothing. I had so much fun dreaming over all the fantastic clothing in the Emporium. This outfit caught my eye. Take out the hat and the big ol’ flower & I love it. The dress looks like something that would be so comfy, but look really fun and chic. Tres adore.
Thanksgiving Point’s basement is just as big as the emporium. It’s ginormous (in the words of Buddy the Elf). Rows upon rows full of trinkets, goodies and furniture are all waiting for their moment to shine for eager customers in the Emporium. I found a little treasure in the basement that stole my heart:
Isn’t this teal table gorgeous?!! It would make such a fun accent piece in a room or entry way.
Bottom line: I’m a fan of Thanksgiving Point. I always have been. My kids beg to go to the “Dinosaur Museum” (Museum of Ancient Life) on at least a weekly basis.
And now, after hearing me oooh and aaah, you have the chance to share in the Thanksgiving Point love, too:
