Food Photog Friday: Gelato

by Quinn on February 19, 2010

As you may know, I’m the Creative Director for local business review/promo group, SassyScoops.com.  Recently we reviewed a fun little sandwich and gelato joint in South Jordan, Utah, called San Gelato.  Oh boy – it was yummy!  Here’s a few random gelato pics I took that night (on-location, not my normal professional set-up or anything fancy like that).  I had a lot of fun taking these pics and love the lighting.  Tell me if they’re “lick-the-picture-delicious” to you.

Who would have thought I could get such decent pics without a tripod and reflector… and using my 50mm lens?!  I definitely wouldn’t have.  Such fun!  Oh, how I love food photography!

p.s. The other night I was up with insomnia for 4 hours (amidst sick, croupy kids waking up) and my entire presentation for PhotocampUtah just came to me!  I wrote it all down as quickly as possible and have felt relieved ever since!  It’s going to be a blast to participate in PhotocampUtah this year!   I can’t believe it’s coming so soon… next month!  Wow.
